after lots of comments and emails about how to set up and install Joiku Hotspot on your favourite Nokia Symbian WiFi enabled Smartphones. Here is post that will clear all your doubts on how to set up Joiku Hotspot on your device.

There are two versions of Joiku Hotspot a light version and premium one, if you are satisfied with lite version of the app do upgrade it to premium. It has lots of features which you will like.

  • Installation:
First download the Joiku Hotspot to your PC, then connect your compatible Symbian phone and transfer the
SIS file via USB cable or through Bluetooth.
Else download the app from Ovi store or navigate to joikuspot.com/light or from nokia WiFi hotspot.
If you download from your smartphone the app installs directly.
As soon as installation starts the phone will ask, whether you want to install the software,
'Click Ok' to continue installation. You can select where to install the app, between Phone Memory,Mass Memory or on your Memory Card.

Note: Restart your smartphone after installation for WiFi drivers to work correctly.

  • Starting and using JoikuSpot:
After successfully installing the app on your Nokia S60 or Symbian^3 phone you can start app by navigating to Applications or Installations folder of your phone.

Start the app by clicking on it, then during first use. The app asks you to agree the Terms & Conditions of the Light version of the app that it is intended for personal use, read the terms correctly and if you agree click 'Ok'.

Next the app asks for permission "Allow sharing your connection with external devices?",
after you allow the app to share the connections. Its all set the app starts and you are on your way to browse Internet on your WiFi enabled devices such as Laptops and Tablets.

While you are starting the app choose your Access point which you want to share, i mean choose the connection which you want to share. After selecting the access point you will be able to see the status that connecting and your access point.

  • There are three Tabs in JoikuSpot Light app, the first tab that is main tab which shows whether the app is active or not (connected or stopped).

When the hotspot that is tethering is active the icon will turn to green, else if the tethering is stopped then the icon is white. In this tab there is an option to upgrade to premium version.

Second Tab:
This tab shows the list of connected clients to your hotspot, and displays the list of successfully connected devices to your phone.(Eg. PC, Ipod, Ipad, laptop etc.)

Third Tab:
This tab displays the connection status view, it shows the whether the service is running or not, Connection duration, traffic sent, traffic received as well as the speed of the mobile network operator.

Now you have a fully configured Symbian WiFi Hotspot with you.

    2. Unfortunately, Android devices aren't compatible with Ad-hoc networks which is shared by joiku spot. Buying some portable hotspot devices would be a solution.
