How to update/install Android Jelly bean 4.1 on XOLO A800

Indian smartphone manufacturer's are in race to provide customer's with the most cutting edge smartphone technologies, and XOLO an subsidiary of Lava mobiles has again doing it well with first Intel Powered smartphone.

 Xolo A800 which was launched earlier this year was running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, with some tweaks to notification bar and Settings menu. The UI was smooth and fluid which was possible by the power of Dual Core MediaTek MT6577 CPU under its hood.

And now Xolo India has released and Firmware update to its A800 Smartphone. And i am going to show you how to update your XOLO A800 to latest i mean comparatively latest to Android 4.0 OS.

Disclaimer: Either of me nor TechMashi is held responsible for any thing to happen with your awesome device, read the instructions carefully or just go to Xolo care to update your device.

First Download the necessary Firmware to your computer or laptop:

1. Download the firmware which Android 4.1 for A800 named update.zip from here, Xolo A800 Android 4.1 update.zip (Don't unzip the file)

Just transfer the update.zip Firmware to your Phone:

1. Connect the USB cable provided with the phone to your computer/laptop to your phone, if your pc detects your phone it will show it in taskbar or it will beep once.
2. On your phone it appears on notification bar as USB connected ,

• Now after selecting it an Green Android with USB symbol appears on the screen with Turn on USB Storage button bellow, select it and the android logo changes to orange as shown below,

    

• Once successfully connected the external storage can be found in the My Computer of your Windows Pc or laptop, then just copu the update.zip file from step 1.
• Then open the root folder of the phone not a sub folder, for example if your phone drive is F:\ just paste it there not in other folder.
• Wait the copying process to complete, once completed.
• Select Turn off USB storage option on your phone screen.

Updating your phone:

1. Lauch the XOLO care app from the phone's menu,

• Once you open the xolo care app, click on check for update in update tab of the app.

• Now click on Check for update, button on the screen

• Click on the continue button on the screen to initiate the update process
• Now the phone will reboot....
